Been quite a while since I posted any updates so I guess it's about time to get this up and going again.
Starting this year I am playing High School Golf, not at U-32 where I attend because we don't have a golf team, but I am playing with my brother and the Ehret Twins Jake and Josh and others at Montpelier High School, others like
Junior Jenna Mekkelsen and freshman John Mekkelsen which were not here for the picture.

We had a tournament 9/12/18 up in Stowe at the Stowe Country Club.
Beautiful Course with some great views like this from the Tee Box on the 10th Hole.

Picture Warming up on the putting green

Talking over the course and strategy with the twins

We played right behind my bother this is him teeing off on #1

I had a shot at a birdie before I even tee'd off

After pitching on to Number 2

Attempting to drain a long up hill putt on # 7

Tee shot on # 8 long uphill par 3

Hitting my tee shot on the last hole.

Hit lots of good shots during the round but couldn't get the putts to fall it is usually all about the flat stick and today was no different I shot an 47 I will keep working on tying things together.
Congratulating my opponents after the round.

This guy actually flipped out after his round..don't know if that means good or bad.:-)

Thats all for today I'll keep working on my game.
Until next week
Joe D out.

FINALLY !

I am getting to play some golf and I am enjoying myself even though I have had a rocky start to my season.
The 1st event of the season was postponed and maybe eventually canceled we'll see.
Second scheduled event of the year I had a 24 hr bug and was unable to participate.
Third event of the year was at Rutland Country Club in lower Vermont
I was paired with another 10 year old Jon Honeywell we played from the Gold Tees which is a little over 5200 yds on a pretty difficult course.
This was my 1st competitive outing of the year on a course that I had never played before.
I did not play outstanding golf at all and the course was difficult and long for me so I had a problem reaching the holes in regulation especially the par 4's and one par 3 that was uphill at 208 yds, long for anyone, but very long for me.
Anyway I played the round and finished in 7th place shooting a 97, not the kind of round I had hoped for but I had fun and enjoyed my day.
My Grandfather brought me there to watch and document the round, and he did that while taking pictures and video's of the day but somewhere between the 18th green and the Van he lost his digital camera and so far it has not turned up, hopefully someone will find it and at least maybe return the memory card in case it was run over by a mower, or in a water puddle etc. Nothing yet however.

On to the Jr. NEPGA event at the Stowe CC in Stowe Vermont
This was supposed to be a 9 hole event for my age group of 10 and under but we had a low turnout in that group and one other player had driven up from Boston and wanted to play thinking it was an 18 hole event and asked to play it as such.
So we moved up into the 12~13 yr old bracket and played 18 holes from the white tees which is over 5770 yds, of hilly terrain and quite long for me.

For what ever reason I don't know but the NEPGA does not allow spectators on the course which according to other people my folks talked too severely hurts the participation numbers so hopefully it will change, because they have a nice full schedule, it's just a lot of effort for folks to travel and sit around the clubhouse for 5 or more hrs waiting on the kids to get finished not to mention worried about any issue to arise and not be readily available.
Anyway pictures of the round are not available either for the same reasons.
I do have one of me on the Practice green prior to the round.

Heading after our ball after teeing off.

Teeing off on the par 3 10th, landed in the bunker not "exactly" what I was after Putting out on 18
Walking off 18 after the round

Finished up tied for 6th place with R Denehey at +22
3 shots better than last week on a longer tougher course, so I feel like my game is coming around.
Ball Striking is ok, it's putting and accuracy that has hampered my scoring.
I'm spend some time getting ready for next week at Vermont National 1st time for playing there as well.
Later JD..
